What affects the price in Lenham Forstal

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, because of:

  • How many staff you need
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • How many courses
  • The number of people

Extras such as tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are priced separately, so you only pay for what you want.

Getting an accurate quote

You do not need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:

  • A picture of where we’d cook
  • The venue or postcode
  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children

Send us the date, your venue or ME17 postcode and guest numbers, along with any dietary needs, and we’ll reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. To get started, send us your details through our quote form.

Lenham Forstal is about 8 miles north-west of Ashford, in Kent. We bring paella party catering to homes, gardens and venues in Lenham Forstal and the surrounding area. We cater in all 922 towns and villages in Kent, from the larger towns to small villages. We cook right across the region, from Lenham Forstal to Canterbury (about 15 miles away).

Christenings and naming days frequently start at a local church such as Church of the Holy Trinity, with a paella lunch at home or in a hall afterwards. Thinking of a party in Kiln Wood? Cooking in a public park normally needs permission from the council or landowner, so check first. Lenham Forstal is within about 6 miles of the Kent Downs National Landscape, so a garden party here comes with a lovely backdrop.

Lenham Forstal: your questions answered

Could we have live paella in Kiln Wood?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, typically the council. Ask them first, and we’ll send any information they need.

Can you cook at venues in the Kent Downs National Landscape?

Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. We’ll work to whatever the site needs.

Is the paella cooked on site?

Yes. We arrive with everything we need and cook it there and then, then serve straight from the pan.

Can you supply crockery?

On request. Proper crockery or good-quality disposables can be added.

Is my garden big enough?

Typically, yes, if there’s a flat, open spot away from fences and branches. Send us a picture of the space.

How soon do we need to book?

The sooner the better. Peak dates go quickly, so contact us early.

Do you do starters?

Of course. Canapés with drinks or tapas for the tables, while the rice is cooking.

Do you cook inside?

Indoors only where ventilation and the venue allow it. Courtyards, doorways and terraces frequently work.

The process

Serving is fast: the paella goes straight from the pan to the plate, so large groups are fed quickly. Afterwards we clear our cooking area away. At midsummer, it’s light in Lenham Forstal until about 9:15pm, so a garden party can run well into the evening. In late September it’s dark by about 7:00pm; add lights for the evening.

  1. Send us the date, the address, numbers and diets.
  2. We suggest a menu and confirm a quote.
  3. We arrive, set up in your garden or venue and start the sofrito.
  4. Your guests watch the paella cook, with tapas first if you’ve chosen them.
  5. We serve from the pan and clear our cooking area away when we’re done.

How to prepare

  • Make sure we can park close by to unload
  • Arrange a covered spot for wet weather
  • Give us your final numbers and diets

How to get a price

We need only a few details to quote: the date, where the event is, how many guests and any dietary needs. You can send us your details through our quote form.

Live paella or other catering?

A hog roast is great for meat lovers, but harder for vegetarians and vegans. Separate paella pans cover everyone. There is no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A simple paella lunch costs less than a wedding with canapés, three paellas and waiting staff. Your quote spells it all out.

What you get with us

  • Paella cooked from scratch on site
  • Waiting staff and crockery on request
  • Cooking your guests will gather round to watch

Working with your venue

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: where cooking is allowed, access times and the paperwork they need. Send us your venue’s requirements and we will follow them.

If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, whether you are a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we’re happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It saves passing messages back and forth.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, have hot stock ready, and do not stir once the rice goes in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but you’ll still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. We take care of all of it.

Dishes our guests love

Tapas

Bravas, tortilla, croquetas and more while the paella cooks.

Churros

Fried, sugared and dipped in chocolate.

Planning for every diet

Allergies and diets are taken seriously. Here’s how you can help:

  • Put out bins for general waste and recycling
  • Have enough chairs for most guests
  • Count adults and children separately
  • Warn the neighbours

We arrive before your guests to set up, so the cooking is under way as people arrive.

Tapas to start keep hunger at bay.
