Live paella or other catering?

A hog roast is great for meat lovers, but harder for vegetarians and vegans. Paella covers everyone with separate pans. Seafood and premium ingredients cost more than chicken or vegetable paellas, so the menu you choose affects the price. Tell us your budget and we will suggest a menu.

What you get with us

  • Served hot, straight from the pan
  • A clear, itemised quote
  • We cover High Halden and the whole of Kent
  • Add tapas, canapés and Spanish desserts

How our paella party catering works in High Halden

A paella party works in most gardens, as long as there is a flat spot clear of fences and branches. Send us a picture if you are unsure. Popular choices include mixed paella, vegetable paella and chicken and chorizo paella, and we’re regularly asked to cater naming days and christenings and celebrations of life.

A country party near High Halden is perfect for paella: cooked in the open and served hot. Plan a gazebo in case of rain. Your quote spells out exactly what’s included: the menu, the staff and any extras, with no surprises on the day.

About the dishes

Vegetable paella

Vegetable paella in its own right.

Seafood paella

Seafood paella typically gets the photos, and is best served with lemon.

DIY paella versus live catering

You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but there is shopping, prep and hours of cooking. A caterer handles all of that.

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, keep the stock hot, and leave the rice alone once it is in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

How the day works

On the day, we set up our cooking area, light the burners and start the sofrito. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, so the timing is planned around your event. A summer party in High Halden stays light until about 9:15pm at midsummer, so a garden party can run well into the evening. In late September it is dark by about 7:00pm; add lights for the evening.

  1. We check your date and the space.
  2. You pick paellas, tapas and desserts.
  3. The burners go on and the sofrito starts.
  4. The rice goes in and your guests gather round.
  5. It is served hot, and we clear away afterwards.

What affects the price in High Halden

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, depending on:

  • Waiting and bar staff
  • The number of people
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Your choice of paellas

There is no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. Your quote spells it all out.

Details that help

You don’t need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:

  • Where the event is
  • Your date and when you want to eat
  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts
  • A picture of the space, if you can

The quickest way to a quote is to use our quote form. Give us the details of your party, and we will suggest paellas and extras to suit.

Where we can cook in High Halden

Most outdoor spaces and many venues work for live paella, but there are a few things to check:

  • Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo
  • Agreement from the venue or landowner to cook on site
  • Send a photo of the garden so we can check

If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Popular choices

  • Chicken & chorizo paella
  • Mixed paella
  • Churros
  • Paella Valenciana
  • Seafood paella
  • Vegetable paella

If you are planning an event on someone’s behalf, whether you’re a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we will work directly with you and the venue. It saves passing messages back and forth.

Hosting a party at home? Send a picture of the space and tell us about parking, and we will let you know if live paella is a good fit.

No, we cook in small places too. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.

How far is High Halden from London?

About 44 miles from central London, and well within our area.

If you need them, yes. Crockery, cutlery and napkins, or good-quality disposables are available.

That depends on your menu and numbers. We agree the timings in advance so the paella is ready when you want it.

Can you serve tapas as well?

Of course. Canapés with drinks or tapas for the tables, served while the paella cooks.

Can you do gluten-free paella?

Yes, on request. Rice is naturally gluten-free, but stock and some ingredients may not be, so we make a separate gluten-free pan.

  • Cooked live in giant pans at your event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
  • Paella, tapas, canapés and desserts
