Organising for someone else?

Events in public spaces, like parks, typically need permission. We will provide any information the landowner or council asks for.

If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can hold the date.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, keep the stock hot, and leave the rice alone once it’s in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles separate pans for each diet.

Live paella or other catering?

Hog roasts don’t suit vegetarians and vegans. Separate paella pans cover everyone. Seafood and premium ingredients cost more than chicken or vegetable paellas, so your choice of paellas affects the total. We’ll suggest options to suit your budget.

Why us?

  • Hot food served quickly from the pan
  • Paella cooked from scratch on site
  • Food that becomes part of the entertainment
  • Catering across Hampshire, including Crampmoor

Common questions in Crampmoor

What’s the nearest station to Crampmoor for guests?

Romsey station, about 1.8 miles south-west of the centre.

How far is Crampmoor from London?

Roughly 68 miles from the centre of London, and well within our area.

Can you cook indoors?

Typically we cook outdoors or under a ventilated cover, because we use gas burners. Some venues have suitable spaces; we’ll check with you and the venue.

Can you do gluten-free paella?

Yes, on request. The rice is gluten-free, but stocks and chorizo can contain gluten, so we cook a gluten-free paella separately.

What happens if it rains?

A covered, ventilated spot keeps us cooking in the rain. We will talk it through before the day.

Will it be noisy or smoky?

There is a cooking smell, but much less smoke than a barbecue. Let the neighbours know.

Can you cook in my back garden?

Normally, yes, if there’s a flat, open spot away from fences and branches. Send us a photo of the space.

How much space do you need?

Less than you might think: a level spot clear of fences, hedges and branches, with room for a serving table. If in doubt, send a photo.

How the day works

The paella is cooked in giant, shallow pans over gas burners. We need a level, ventilated spot, which we agree with you beforehand. At midsummer, it is light in Crampmoor until about 9:25pm, which gives a garden party a long evening. In late September it’s dark by about 7:10pm; add lights for the evening.

  1. First, we check the date and the space.
  2. You pick paellas, tapas and desserts.
  3. We set up the burners and start the sofrito.
  4. The rice goes in and your guests gather round.
  5. We serve hot and tidy our area afterwards.

Before we arrive
