Paella catering for Woodnesborough events
Paella catering for your event in Woodnesborough
Keep it simple, or go all out: just paella, or paella with tapas, desserts and drinks. We will suggest what suits your event. Whether it is summer garden parties and retirement celebrations, we can cook chicken and chorizo paella, vegetable paella and vegan paella for your guests.
In a hamlet or village like Woodnesborough, your own garden or a neighbour’s field can make a wonderful venue. Gates, verges and soft ground are worth mentioning when you enquire. We bring everything we need to cook, and pack down our cooking area when service is finished.
Why live cooking beats a buffet
Plated meals need a kitchen and a bigger team. Live paella needs only a level, ventilated spot and permission to cook, and gives guests something to watch. Live paella frequently compares well with a sit-down meal, because it needs no kitchen and fewer staff. Ask us for a quote.

The process
Service is quick: we serve straight from the pan, so large groups are fed quickly. Afterwards we clear our cooking area away. In Woodnesborough, the sun sets at about 9:15pm in late June and about 7:00pm in late September, so summer evening events are generally served in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:50pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.
- You tell us the date, venue, guest numbers and any dietary needs.
- We suggest a menu and confirm a quote, including what’s included.
- We arrive early, set up the cooking area and start the stock.
- The rice cooks in full view, while tapas or canapés go round.
- It’s served straight from the pan, and we pack down afterwards.

Questions from Woodnesborough
Could we have live paella in Ham Fen?
Only with permission from the park’s owner, usually the council. Check with them, and we’ll provide our paperwork.
What about events near the coast?
Yes, with a sheltered cooking spot. Sea breezes cool the pan, so a windbreak, building or gazebo helps.
What about pudding?
We can add a dessert. Let us know if you’d like one in your enquiry.
Can you do gluten-free paella?
A gluten-free pan is no problem. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can plan it carefully.
Can we choose the seafood?
Tell us your preferences and we will suggest seafood options to suit your menu and budget. Premium shellfish can be added.
What happens if it rains?
A covered, ventilated spot keeps us cooking in the rain. We will talk it through before the day.
How much space do you need?
Level ground for the burners, pans and a table, outdoors or in a marquee or well-ventilated area, plus the venue’s agreement to cooking.
Can you cook indoors?
Only in a suitable, well-ventilated area with the venue’s permission. Courtyards, doorways and terraces frequently work.
Cook it yourself or book a caterer?
Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but you will still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. A caterer handles all of that.
Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

About the dishes
Vegetable and vegan paella
A vegetable paella isn’t an afterthought: artichokes, beans, peppers and saffron.
Mixed paella
Mixed paella brings meat and seafood together, and it is frequently the first pan to empty.
Catering for every guest
Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal included. To get it right:
- Request clear labels at the serving table
- Plan seating for most guests: paella is easiest eaten sitting down
- Send allergies to us in writing
- Count adults and children separately
After service, we pack down our cooking area, quietly and quickly.
Spanish desserts such as churros or crema catalana finish the meal, or serve your own cake.
