Paella catering in Vale of Health, cooked live
The cooking is half the fun. People drift over as the sofrito sizzles and the rice turns gold, and the aroma does the rest. For wedding breakfasts and evening food and anniversary celebrations, we will put together a menu of seafood paella, black rice and chicken and chorizo paella and more.

Paella Valenciana
Paella Valenciana is the original: chicken, beans and saffron, rather than seafood. It’s a favourite with guests who do not eat fish.
Mixed paella
A mix of chicken and seafood.
Vale of Health questions
Can you cook in Hampstead Heath?
Only if the landowner, usually the council, allows it. Check with them, and we will provide our paperwork.
Is parking a problem for events in Vale of Health?
London parking needs planning: let us know about permits or off-street space. We’ll work around it.
Do you provide drinks?
We can make sangria, and we can staff a bar with your drinks.
Can you cook halal paella?
Yes, we do. We use halal chicken and leave out pork and alcohol, in a separate pan.
How much is live paella catering?
The price depends on numbers, menu, courses, staff and travel. Tell us about your event and we will send a quote.
Do we need to provide equipment?
All cooking kit comes with us. Let us know what your venue has, like tables or crockery.
Which paellas do you recommend?
Most events choose two or three: chicken or mixed, seafood, and vegetable or vegan. See the sample menu.
Do you do starters?
Yes, it’s the classic pairing. Tapas go out first, then the paella.
How the day works
We get there well before serving, unload, set up the burners and prepare the stock. Guests usually gather round to watch as the paella takes shape. Around midsummer it stays light in Vale of Health until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.
- Start with the date, the place and the numbers.
- We come back with paellas to suit your guests, plus any extras.
- Closer to the day, we confirm timings and the cooking spot.
- We set up, cook from scratch and keep an eye on your timings.
- Guests are served from the pan, and our area is cleared afterwards.
How to prepare
- Keep the cooking spot clear of fences, hedges and branches
- Confirm numbers and diets before the day
- Share the running order, including any speeches

Live paella or other catering?
Barbecues cook in batches, so food comes off in waves. Paella is ready all at once, so everyone eats together. Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so the menu you choose affects the price. Tell us your budget and we’ll suggest a menu.

DIY paella versus live catering
Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the cooking.
Weighing up DIY against a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Ask us for a quote and compare.
Space, weather and the venue
We will be honest if a space won’t work, and help find another spot. What matters most:
- Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo
- Confirmation that open cooking is allowed
- Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls
Vale of Health is in London, within the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and parking can be tight: let us know about permits, bays or off-street parking.
If you are unsure, send a picture of the space and we will say what we think before you book.
