Paella catering for your event in Twitton

Almost any venue with a level, ventilated spot will do: gardens, marquees, barns, courtyards and festival fields. We cook chicken and chorizo paella, mixed paella and paella Valenciana, and we’re regularly asked to cater birthday celebrations and anniversaries and engagement parties.

Somewhere as small as Twitton, a garden or field is often the venue. Country lanes and long drives are no problem if we know about them, and cooking close to where we can park helps. You can add tapas, desserts, sangria, bar staff and waiting staff, so one booking can cover the whole menu.

Why choose paella catering in Twitton?

Paella is quick to serve and suits mixed diets, which is why it works for so many occasions. It also gives guests something to watch and talk about.

If you are planning any of these, we can help:

  • Family celebrations and christenings
  • Wedding breakfasts and evening food
  • Birthday celebrations
  • Fairs, fêtes and festivals

If you are organising a summer fair for a school like Otford Primary School, a paella stall is a crowd-pleaser.

Before booking anyone

  • How bad weather is handled
  • VAT, if it applies
  • How many staff are coming, and for how long
  • Exactly what’s included in the price

Choosing a paella caterer

Should I cook it myself?

Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but you’ll still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. A caterer handles all of that.

Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the cooking.

Twitton questions

How far is Twitton from London?

About 17 miles from central London, and well within our area.

We are having a ceremony at Twitton Mission Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is generally elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Yes, and meat eaters frequently go back for seconds. They have their own pans, stock and spoons.

Can you cook indoors?

Usually we cook outdoors or under a ventilated cover, because we use gas burners. We’ll check whether your venue has a suitable space.

Is live paella good for a large crowd?

Yes, that’s what it’s made for. We plan the number of pans and serving points around your numbers.

Which areas do you serve?

We cater across London and the South East, Kent included. Find your area.

How many different paellas?

Two or three covers most guests. We’ll recommend a mix based on diets.

Can you serve tapas as well?

Yes, and it is a popular combination. Tapas first, paella to follow.

Catering for every guest

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Try these:

  • Collect dietary needs with your RSVPs
  • Flag any coeliac guests, not just gluten-free preferences
  • Give us separate numbers for children
  • Plan a meat, a seafood and a vegetable or vegan pan

After service, we pack down our cooking area, quietly and quickly.

Need plates or staff? We can provide them.

The process

Here’s how the day normally runs: we arrive, set up and start cooking, the rice cooks in front of your guests, and it’s served hot from the pan when you’re ready to eat. Around midsummer it stays light in Twitton until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening events are usually served in daylight. For winter events, when it is dark by about 3:55pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.

  1. First, you send us your date, venue, numbers and diets.
  2. We put together a menu and a clear quote.
  3. On the day we arrive in good time, set up and start the stock.
  4. The rice cooks in full view, while tapas or canapés go round.
  5. We serve it hot from the pan and clear our area when service ends.

Getting ready for the day

  • Tell us where to park and unload
  • Confirm the venue is happy with live cooking
  • Ensure the spot is clear of anything flammable

Vegetable and vegan paella

Seasonal vegetables on a rich sofrito base make a paella that stands on its own. For vegans, the stock is plant-based.

Paella Valenciana

The original paella from Valencia is a countryside dish of chicken and vegetables, not seafood. It is often the most popular pan at an event.

  • Cooked live in giant pans at your event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
  • Paella, tapas, canapés and desserts
  • Sangria, bar staff, crockery and waiting staff
