What paella catering costs

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, depending on:

  • Your choice of paellas
  • The number of people
  • Travel, parking and access
  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables

Extras such as tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are priced separately, so you can choose exactly what you need.

Getting an accurate quote

Good planning starts with a few facts. Please include:

  • What the venue already provides
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts
  • Diets and allergies you know about

Each quote is tailored to your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we will check availability at the same time.

About our paella catering in Snargate

One cooking area feeds plenty of people, very little goes to waste, and the food is served hot. That is why it works for so many events. We cook seafood paella, chicken and chorizo paella and mixed paella, and typical bookings are for staff parties and work lunches and engagement and anniversary parties.

For a rural spot like Snargate, the countryside is part of the appeal: a paella cooking in a garden or field feels right at home. Tell us about access and the ground. The paella is served straight from the pan, so it is hot and generous, and a queue moves quickly.

DIY paella versus live catering

Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but there’s shopping, prep and hours of cooking. We take care of all of it.

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up stuck at the stove. With live paella catering, you get the theatre without the work.

Planning the cooking area

The right spot keeps things safe and helps the paella cook evenly. We need:

  • Good ventilation: outdoors, or an open-sided cover
  • Level ground for the pans and burners
  • Parking close enough to carry equipment

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we’ll advise before booking.

On the menu in Snargate

How to compare caterers

Common questions in Snargate

Is Snargate close to London?

Roughly 52 miles from the centre of London, and well within our area.

We are having a ceremony at Church of St Dunstan: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking usually happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

Can you provide dessert?

We can add a dessert. Let us know if you’d like one when you ask for a quote.

How much space do you need?

Level ground for the burners, pans and a table, outdoors or in a marquee or well-ventilated area, and the venue’s permission for live cooking.

Is paella a full meal?

Yes. Paella with bread and salad makes a full main course, and tapas or dessert can be added.

Can you cook in the rain?

Rain does not stop us, as long as there is a ventilated cover. We will make a plan B with you.

Will there be enough food?

Pans are sized to your numbers and other courses. Let us know about any other food. See how much paella per person.

Can you cook halal paella?

We can. Let us know your halal numbers, and we’ll cook a separate pan.

Step by step

We take care of the food from set-up to service, so you are free to enjoy your event. If you’ve chosen tapas or canapés, they go out first as the rice is cooking. In Snargate, the sun sets at about 9:15pm in late June and about 7:00pm in late September, so summer evening events are usually served in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:50pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.

  1. First, you send us your date, venue, numbers and diets.
  2. We put together a menu and a clear quote.
  3. We arrive early, set up the cooking area and start the stock.
  4. Your guests watch the paella cook, with any tapas served first.
  5. We serve it hot from the pan and clear our area when service ends.

Getting ready for the day

  • Check the venue allows live cooking
  • Tell us where to park and unload
  • Arrange a covered spot for wet weather

Mixed paella

A mix of chicken and seafood, and a popular all-rounder.

Paella Valenciana

The original paella from Valencia is a countryside dish of chicken and vegetables, not seafood. It is a favourite with guests who don’t eat fish.

Paella compared with other options

Food trucks and street-food vans serve one portion at a time. A big pan serves many guests fast, so everyone can eat at the same time. Travel, parking and access can affect the price, so it helps to tell us about your venue. The full price is confirmed before you book.

Why us?

  • Tapas, canapés and desserts if you want them
  • Catering across Kent, including Snargate
  • Options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests, each in its own pan
  • Real theatre, not just catering
