Paella catering near Seething Wells

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party cooking. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.

Cooking it yourself? Test your pan and burner first, keep the stock hot, and leave the rice alone once it’s in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

How our paella catering works in Seething Wells

Two or three pans side by side cover every guest: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. Each is cooked separately, so diets are easy to manage. We’re frequently asked to cater christenings and family gatherings and company summer parties, with vegan paella, mixed paella and chicken and chorizo paella.

London gardens are frequently long and narrow, but a level spot away from fences and trees is generally all we need. For an event in Seething Wells, tell us where we can park to unload. Timings are planned around your event, whether that is speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.

Paella compared with other options

Next to a hog roast or barbecue, live paella is easier for vegetarian, vegan and halal guests, thanks to separate pans. Service from the pan keeps queues moving. Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so it helps to tell us about your venue. Everything is confirmed in writing.

Why Seething Wells hosts choose us

  • Fast service from the pan
  • Sangria, plus bar staff for your own drinks
  • Waiting staff and crockery on request
  • Cooking your guests will gather round to watch

Seething Wells questions

We’re having a ceremony at St Andrew's Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is generally elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.

Can you cook in Hampton Court Park?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, generally the council. Check with them, and we’ll provide our paperwork.

Can you cater for children?

Yes. Children often love a simple chicken paella. Include children in your numbers.

What happens with live paella?

We bring everything needed to cook on site, cook in front of your guests, and serve when you’re ready to eat.

How much is live paella catering?

We quote for each event, based on what you actually want. Tell us your date and numbers and we’ll reply with a price.

What areas do you cover?

London and the South East: Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight, including Seething Wells.

Do you clear up afterwards?

We clear our cooking area away when service is finished. Clearing guests’ plates and tables can be added with waiting staff.

Can paella be the only main course?

Yes. With bread and salad, paella is a complete main.

About the dishes

Seafood paella

A rich seafood stock with prawns, mussels and squid, finished with lemon wedges. It’s generally the most photographed pan.

Black rice

Black rice gets its colour from squid ink, and is normally served with alioli. It’s a striking addition to a seafood menu.

Diets, allergies and planning

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Here’s how:

  • Plan seating for most guests: paella is easiest eaten sitting down
  • Tell us about coeliac guests specifically
  • Plan a meat, a seafood and a vegetable or vegan pan
  • Mention any other courses or food

On the day, you shouldn’t have to think about the food. We arrive in good time, set up, cook and serve, and keep in touch with you or your venue about timings.

Tapas or canapés make a good start while the paella cooks.

How it works

Once the rice is in, we don’t stir it. That’s what gives paella its separate grains and crispy base. The smell typically draws people over. Planning an evening event in Seething Wells? Sunset is around 8:55pm in late May, 9:20pm at midsummer and 7:05pm in late September; after dark, the cooking and serving areas need good lighting.

  1. Get in touch with the basics: when, where and how many.
  2. Expect a menu idea and a clear, itemised price.
  3. A week or so before, we confirm the plan.
  4. We set up, cook from scratch and keep an eye on your timings.
  5. Guests are served from the pan, and our area is cleared afterwards.

How to prepare

  • Have a level space ready for the pans
  • Plan cover in case of rain
  • Give us your final numbers and diets
