Paella catering in Sandwich Bay Estate

Paella catering in Sandwich Bay Estate, made fresh on the day

We arrive with the pans, burners and fresh ingredients and cook the paella in front of your guests. Once it’s ready, we serve it hot from the pan. On the menu are chicken and chorizo paella, mixed paella and paella Valenciana, and typical bookings are for wedding breakfasts and evening food and staff parties and work lunches.

In a small place like Sandwich Bay Estate, events are normally in a garden, a field or a nearby hall. Country lanes and long drives are no problem if we know about them, and cooking close to where we can park helps. We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests, each in a separate pan.

Sandwich Bay Estate: your questions answered

Which station should guests use for Sandwich Bay Estate?

The closest is Sandwich station, roughly 1.9 miles away.

Is Sandwich Bay Estate too small for live paella?

No, we cook in small places too. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Of course. Vegetarian and vegan paellas are cooked in separate pans, alongside the meat and seafood pans.

Do you provide plates and cutlery?

If you need them, yes. Crockery, cutlery and napkins, or good-quality disposables are available.

What seafood can we have?

Tell us your preferences and we’ll suggest seafood options to suit your menu and budget. Premium shellfish can be added.

Do we need to provide equipment?

Pans, burners and ingredients all come with us. You just need a suitable spot and access.

Sangria, yes. For other drinks, we can provide bar staff to serve what you buy.

Do you do desserts?

We can add a dessert. Tell us what you have in mind when you ask for a quote.

The menu, dish by dish

Vegetable and vegan paella

Seasonal vegetables on a rich sofrito base make a paella that stands on its own. For vegans, the stock is plant-based.

Seafood paella

Prawns, mussels and squid in a rich fish stock, finished with lemon wedges. It’s generally the most photographed pan.

Organising for someone else?

If you are organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we’ll work directly with you and the venue. It saves passing messages back and forth.

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We will provide any information the landowner or council asks for.

Planning for every diet

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. We suggest:

  • Plan seating for most guests: paella is easiest eaten sitting down
  • Put allergy details in writing
  • Collect dietary needs with your RSVPs
  • Let us know about other food at the event

If you’ve booked staff, they’ll serve, clear and help keep things moving, so you can enjoy your guests.

Bread, salad and lemon wedges make the meal go further.

How it works

When we arrive, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, so the timing is planned around your event. In Sandwich Bay Estate, the sun sets at about 9:15pm in late June and about 7:00pm in late September, so summer evening events are typically served in daylight. For winter events, when it is dark by about 3:50pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.

  1. Start with the date, the place and the numbers.
  2. We come back with paellas to suit your guests, plus any extras.
  3. Closer to the day, we confirm timings and the cooking spot.
  4. We set up, cook from scratch and keep an eye on your timings.
  5. Guests are served from the pan, and our area is cleared afterwards.

DIY paella versus live catering

You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.

For a small group, cooking yourself can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles separate pans for each diet.

Perfect for your event in Sandwich Bay Estate

It needs no kitchen, so it is at home in gardens, fields and marquees where other catering struggles.

We can help if you are planning any of the following:

  • Leaving dos and retirements
  • Naming days and family parties
  • Festivals, fairs and school events
  • Company summer parties
