Paella catering near Rushmoor
Paella catering in Rushmoor, made fresh on the day
Paella is generous food: big pans, bright colours and a crispy base everyone wants a spoonful of. It turns a meal into an occasion. Popular choices include mixed paella, chicken and chorizo paella and vegan paella, and we are regularly asked to cater weddings and evening receptions and festivals, fairs and school events.
For a rural spot like Rushmoor, the countryside is part of the appeal: a paella cooking in a garden or field feels right at home. Tell us about access and the ground. Every pan is cooked in front of your guests, so it arrives hot and becomes part of the event.
Before you choose a spot
We cook in large pans over gas burners, so the cooking area needs a little planning. Here’s what we look for:
- Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls
- Good ventilation: outdoors, or an open-sided cover
- Parking close enough to carry equipment
Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Why live cooking beats a buffet
Vans serve one order at a time. A big pan serves many guests fast, so everyone can eat at the same time. The cost per head normally falls as numbers rise, because the cooking set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Give us your numbers and we will quote.

How it works
We cook over gas burners in wide, shallow pans. We need a level, ventilated spot, which we agree with you beforehand. Evenings in Rushmoor stay light until about 9:20pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:05pm; once it’s dark, we need light to cook and serve by.
- First, tell us about your event.
- You get a menu and an itemised quote.
- We agree timings, access and the cooking spot.
- We cook live on the day while guests watch.
- It is served straight from the pan, and we clear our area afterwards.
Before we arrive
- Name one person we can ask on the day
- Plan cover in case of rain
- Check the venue allows live cooking

DIY paella versus live catering
You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. A big pan needs a burner that heats it evenly, and getting the rice right for dozens of people takes experience. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.
DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party cooking. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.

About the dishes
Seafood paella
Seafood paella starts with a good fish and shellfish stock. The shellfish is added late so it stays tender.
Paella Valenciana
Paella Valenciana is the original: chicken, beans and saffron, not seafood. It’s a favourite with guests who do not eat fish.

Rushmoor questions
Do you cater in the Surrey Hills National Landscape?
Yes. Some venues there have rules about vehicles, ground and cooking, so check with yours. We’ll follow the site rules.
Is Rushmoor too small for live paella?
Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.
Who clears up?
Our cooking area is packed away and left clean. Ask us about table clearing if you need it.
Is it really cooked live?
Yes, always. Every paella is cooked from scratch on site, where your guests can watch.
Do you cater for coeliacs?
Yes, on request. The rice is gluten-free, but stocks and chorizo can contain gluten, so we make a separate gluten-free pan.
Do you come to Rushmoor?
Yes, we do. We cook at events in Rushmoor and across Surrey. Tell us your date and we will check availability.
What about pudding?
Yes. Spanish desserts such as churros or crema catalana, or you can serve your own cake.
Do you cater for vegetarian guests?
Yes. Vegetarian and vegan paellas are cooked in separate pans, alongside the meat and seafood pans.
