How we price paella catering

Each event is quoted on its own, based on a few main things:

  • Starters, canapés and desserts
  • The paellas you choose
  • The number of people
  • Waiting and bar staff

Live paella often compares well with a sit-down meal, because it needs no kitchen and fewer staff. We will send you a quote.

What we need to know

When you get in touch, it helps to tell us:

  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • Which courses you have in mind
  • Anything your venue supplies
  • The venue or postcode

The quickest way to a quote is to send us your details through our quote form. Give us the details of your event, and we will suggest paellas and extras to suit.

Paella catering in Picketts Lock, made fresh on the day

Almost any venue with a level, ventilated spot will do: a garden, marquee, barn, courtyard or field in and around Picketts Lock. On the menu are vegetable paella, seafood paella and mixed paella, and we are regularly asked to cater weddings and evening receptions and anniversary celebrations.

London gardens are frequently long and narrow, which is fine for live paella as long as there is a level spot clear of fences and trees. For an event in Picketts Lock, tell us where we can park to unload. All the cooking equipment comes with us, and we clear our cooking area away afterwards.

Should I cook it myself?

Weighing up DIY against a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Ask us for a quote and compare.

You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but you will still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. A caterer handles all of that.

Common questions in Picketts Lock

What’s the nearest station to Picketts Lock for guests?

The closest is Ponders End station, roughly 1.2 miles away.

Could we have live paella in Pymmes Park?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, generally the council. Check with them, and we’ll provide our paperwork.

What do you need at the venue?

Not a lot: a level spot clear of fences, hedges and branches, with room for a serving table. Send us a photo if you are not sure.

What if the weather’s bad?

Rain doesn’t stop us, as long as there is a ventilated cover. We will make a plan B with you.

Should we have more than one paella?

Two or three is usual: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. We will suggest a split based on your guests.

How do you work out quantities?

Quantities depend on numbers, timing and courses, with a little extra built in. Give us accurate numbers for the best result.

Can you supply plates?

If you need them, yes. Crockery, cutlery and napkins, or good-quality disposables are available.

Do you cover Picketts Lock?

We do. We cook at events in Picketts Lock and across Greater London. Send us your date to check availability.

The process

We get there well before serving, unload, set up the burners and prepare the stock. Your guests are welcome to watch while it cooks. Around midsummer it stays light in Picketts Lock until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening events are usually served in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:50pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. You get a suggested menu and an itemised quote.
  3. We arrive early, set up the cooking area and start the stock.
  4. Your guests watch the paella cook, with any tapas served first.
  5. We serve from the pan, then clear our cooking area away.
