Common questions in Parker's Green

Is Parker's Green too small for live paella?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking.

We’re having a ceremony at St Andrew: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking usually happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

Do you provide drinks?

We can make sangria, and we can staff a bar with your drinks.

Do you come to Parker's Green?

Yes. We cover London and the South East, including Parker's Green and the rest of Kent. To check your date, fill in our quote form.

What is live paella catering?

We arrive with pans, burners and ingredients, cook in front of your guests, and serve at the time you want.

When should we book?

As early as you can, especially for summer weekends. Even if it is short notice, it’s worth asking.

Which paellas suit our guests?

That depends on who’s coming. Chicken and mixed paellas tend to go first, with seafood and vegetable pans alongside.

Do you have a kids’ option?

Yes, children are easy to cater for. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we will plan a pan with them in mind.

How our paella catering works in Parker's Green

Keep it simple, or go all out: paella on its own, or with canapés, table tapas, desserts and sangria. We’ll suggest what suits your event. For retirement and leaving parties and engagement and anniversary parties, we will put together a menu of chicken and chorizo paella, seafood paella and vegetable paella.

For a rural spot like Parker's Green, the countryside is part of the appeal: a paella cooking in a garden or field feels right at home. Let us know about access and ground conditions. Tapas, canapés, desserts, sangria and staff can all be added, so one booking can cover the whole menu.

The menu, dish by dish

Vegetable and vegan paella

A slow sofrito, seasonal vegetables and a good vegetable stock make a proper main dish. Vegan versions use plant-based stock.

Mixed paella

Chicken and seafood together.

For planners, venues and organisers

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we’ll keep you updated on timings and set-up.

Venues frequently have their own rules about outside caterers: cooking areas, access times and documents. Tell us what your venue needs and we will work to it.

Catering for every guest

Paella is one of the easiest dishes for mixed diets, because every paella has its own pan. A few tips:

  • Send allergies to us in writing
  • Pick a mix of paellas to cover every diet
  • Mention any other courses or food
  • Ask for labels on each pan

You shouldn’t have to worry about the food on the day. We arrive in good time, set up, cook and serve, and stay in touch with your venue about timings.

Spanish desserts such as churros or crema catalana finish the meal, or serve your own cake.

Planning the cooking area

Safety and good cooking both depend on the spot we use. We look for:

  • Agreement from the venue or landowner to cook on site
  • Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo
  • A level, firm spot for the burners and pans

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise.

Popular choices

  • Vegetable paella
  • Black rice (arroz negro)
  • Seafood paella
  • Mixed paella
  • Chicken & chorizo paella
  • Paella Valenciana
  • Vegan paella

Prices and what affects them

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, depending on:

  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • Guest numbers
  • How many courses
  • Travel, parking and access

Extras such as tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are priced separately, so you only pay for what you want.

Getting an accurate quote

To speed things up, tell us:

  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • A picture of where we’d cook
  • The venue or postcode
  • Your date and when you want to eat

Most quotes start with a few simple details: the date, where the event is, how many guests and any dietary needs. To send them, use our quote form.

How the day works

We get there well before serving, unload, set up the burners and prepare the stock. Your guests are welcome to watch as the paella takes shape. Around midsummer it stays light in Parker's Green until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:00pm, so summer evening events are normally served in daylight. For winter events, when it is dark by about 3:55pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.

  1. First, tell us about your event.
  2. We suggest paellas and extras and send a clear quote.
  3. We agree timings, access and the cooking spot.
  4. On the day, we set up and cook in front of your guests.
  5. It is served straight from the pan, and we clear our area afterwards.

How to prepare

  • Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely
  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
  • Keep the cooking spot clear of fences, hedges and branches
