Your questions about paella catering in Palmer's Green

Which station should guests use for Palmer's Green?

Paddock Wood station, about 2.3 miles north of the centre.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Parish Church of All Saints?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking normally happens at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

Can the paella be cooked in a hall?

Usually we cook outdoors or under a ventilated cover, since the burners are gas. Some venues have suitable spaces; we will check with you and the venue.

Can you bring crockery?

If you need them, yes. Crockery, cutlery and napkins, or good-quality disposables can be added to your booking.

What equipment do you bring?

We bring all the cooking equipment. Let us know what your venue has, like tables or crockery.

What happens with live paella?

We arrive with pans, burners and ingredients, cook while everyone watches, and serve at the time you want.

Where do you cater?

We cover London and the South East, including Kent. Find your area.

Can you cook in the rain?

Rain does not stop us, as long as there is a ventilated cover. We will talk it through before the day.

What paella catering costs

Here’s what makes the biggest difference to the price:

  • Travel, parking and access
  • Guest numbers
  • Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
  • Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert

If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we’ll put together a menu that fits. A simple menu can still feel generous.

What to tell us

Here’s what makes a quick, accurate quote possible:

  • The date and time of the event
  • Expected numbers
  • The courses you’d like
  • The venue or postcode

A detailed enquiry gets a more accurate quote: the venue, the timings, the courses you’d like and any extras. To send your details, fill in our quote form.

Diets, allergies and planning

We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests. To make it work smoothly:

  • Mention any other courses or food
  • Tell us about coeliac guests specifically
  • Give us separate numbers for children
  • Pick a mix of paellas to cover every diet

Let the paella rest for a few minutes before serving, and that’s when we invite guests up.

Sangria and bar staff can be added for your own drinks.

How to compare caterers

About the dishes

Black rice

Black rice gets its colour from squid ink, and is generally served with alioli. It makes a dramatic second seafood pan.

Seafood paella

Prawns, mussels and squid in a rich fish stock, cooked until the rice is golden. It is the pan people photograph.

How it works

Here’s how the day usually runs: we set up the pans and start the sofrito, the rice cooks in front of your guests, and we serve straight from the pan when you are ready to eat. Around midsummer it stays light in Palmer's Green until about 9:15pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:00pm, so summer evening events are generally served in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.

  1. First, tell us about your event.
  2. We suggest paellas and extras and send a clear quote.
  3. We agree timings, access and the cooking spot.
  4. On the day, we set up and cook in front of your guests.
  5. It’s served straight from the pan, and we clear our area afterwards.

How to prepare

  • Plan cover in case of rain
  • Check the venue allows live cooking
  • Tell us when you want to eat

For planners, venues and organisers

Booking for a company? Tell us what your finance team needs, and we’ll explain how it works. We’re happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we’ll keep you updated on timings and set-up.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, have hot stock ready, and leave the rice alone once it is in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

Some hosts like to cook themselves. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the cooking.
