About our paella catering in Owlswick

Two or three pans side by side cover every guest: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. Every pan is cooked on its own, so diets are easy to manage. Typical bookings include naming days and family parties and weddings and evening receptions, with vegan paella, black rice and seafood paella.

For a rural spot like Owlswick, the countryside is part of the appeal: a paella cooking in a garden or field feels right at home. Tell us about access and the ground. We cook every pan in full view of your guests, so it arrives hot and becomes part of the event.

Who books paella catering in Owlswick?

There’s no kitchen needed, so it works in gardens, fields and marquees where other catering struggles.

In Owlswick and nearby, we cater all sorts of events. Some of the most common are:

  • Wedding breakfasts and evening food
  • Company summer parties
  • Festivals, fairs and school events
  • Garden get-togethers

If you’re celebrating after a service at a church like Owlswick Chapel, live paella at a garden or venue nearby works well.

What your quote should include

  • When payment is due
  • How each diet is kept separate
  • The venue requirements
  • Who provides the crockery

Choosing a paella caterer

Catering for every guest

Most events have a mix of diets. To plan for them:

  • Give us separate numbers for children
  • Make sure most guests can sit to eat
  • Let us know about other food at the event
  • Choose two or three paellas so every guest has a choice

On the day, you shouldn’t have to think about the food. We arrive in good time, set up, cook and serve, and stay in touch with your venue about timings.

Sangria and bar staff can be added for your own drinks.

Live paella or other catering?

For something a little different, live paella adds colour, smell and theatre. The price depends on your guest numbers, the menu and how many courses you choose, along with staff, extras and travel. Every event gets its own quote.

Why us?

  • Served hot, straight from the pan
  • Every diet catered for, pan by pan
  • Tapas, canapés and desserts if you want them
  • Sangria, plus bar staff for your own drinks

How it works

We arrive in good time before you want to eat, set up the cooking area and get the stock going. Your guests are welcome to watch as the paella takes shape. In Owlswick, the sun sets at about 9:25pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it is dark by about 3:55pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.

  1. You share your date, numbers and venue.
  2. We plan the menu with you, including every diet.
  3. We arrive in good time to set up.
  4. The sofrito, stock and rice go in, and guests gather to watch.
  5. Service is straight from the pan, then we pack down.

How to prepare

  • Plan cover in case of rain
  • Check the venue allows live cooking
  • Give us your final numbers and diets

Common questions in Owlswick

Do you cater in the Chilterns National Landscape?

Yes. Some venues there have rules about vehicles, ground and cooking, so check with yours. We will follow the site rules.

We are having a ceremony at Owlswick Chapel: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Live cooking usually happens at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

How much is live paella catering?

The price depends on numbers, menu, courses, staff and travel. Send us the details for a quote.

How long do you need on site?

We get there in good time to set up. The rice itself takes about 20 minutes, timed around your event.

Should we have more than one paella?

Typically two or three, so every guest has a choice. We will recommend a mix based on diets.

What equipment do you bring?

Pans, burners and ingredients all come with us. You just need a suitable spot and access.

Will there be enough food?

Quantities depend on numbers, timing and courses, with a sensible margin. Accurate numbers help.

How far ahead should we book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Ask about your date even if it is soon.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Hiring a pan and burner is one option, but there is shopping, prep and hours of cooking. A caterer handles all of that.

Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. We’re happy to give you a quote to compare.

Working with your venue

Events in public spaces, like parks, generally need permission. We can send whatever the landowner or council needs from us.

If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can hold the date.

Space, weather and the venue

We’ll agree the cooking spot with you before the day. A good spot ticks these boxes:

  • Somewhere close to park and unload
  • Confirmation that open cooking is allowed
  • Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and we will say what we think before booking.

About the dishes

Black rice

Arroz negro is coloured and flavoured with squid ink, and is usually served with alioli. It’s a striking addition to a seafood menu.

Mixed paella

Mixed paella brings meat and seafood together, and it’s frequently the first pan to empty.

  • Cooked live in giant pans at your event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options
  • Paella, tapas, canapés and desserts
  • Sangria, bar staff, crockery and waiting staff
