Paella catering for your event in Nursted
One cooking area feeds a lot of people, there is very little waste, and the food is served hot. It is why live paella suits so many kinds of event. Whether it’s garden get-togethers and retirement celebrations, we will put together a menu of vegetable paella, chicken and chorizo paella and vegan paella.
In a hamlet or village like Nursted, your own garden or a neighbour’s field can make a wonderful venue. Mention gates and soft ground when you get in touch. We plan the timings around your day, so the paella is ready when you want to eat.
About the dishes
Black rice
Squid ink rice is bold and savoury, and is popular with adventurous guests.
Vegetable and vegan paella
Seasonal vegetables on a rich sofrito base make a paella that stands on its own. Vegan versions use plant-based stock.

Planning help
Nursted: your questions answered
How far is Nursted from London?
Roughly 50 miles from the centre of London, and well within our area.
Can you cook at venues in the South Downs National Park?
Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. We will work to whatever the site needs.
How many paellas should we have?
Most events have two or three: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. We will suggest a split based on your guests.
Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?
Yes, and meat eaters frequently go back for seconds. They have their own pans, stock and spoons.
Do you take everything away?
We pack down our cooking area after service. Clearing guests’ plates and tables can be added with waiting staff.
What do you need at the venue?
A level space for the pans, burners and a serving table, in the open air or a ventilated covered area, plus the venue’s agreement to cooking.
Is live paella good for a large crowd?
Very much so. We plan the number of pans and serving points around your numbers.
Do you provide drinks?
Sangria, yes. We can also supply bar staff for your own drinks.

What to look for in a quote
- Who provides the crockery
- How dietary needs and allergies are handled
- The venue requirements
- How many staff are coming, and for how long
Planning for every diet
Few dishes handle mixed diets as well as paella, because every paella has its own pan. A few tips:
- Plan seating for most guests: paella is easiest eaten sitting down
- Count adults and children separately
- Add a dietary question to your invitations
- Tell us about coeliac guests specifically
The rice takes about 20 minutes once it goes in, so we start it at the right moment for your event. If timings shift, we adapt.
Add canapé tapas with the drinks or table tapas as a starter as the rice cooks.
How we price paella catering
Every event is priced individually, based on a few main things:
- Whether you need crockery
- How many courses
- The paellas you choose
- Parking and unloading
Extras such as tapas, desserts, sangria, staff and crockery are priced separately, so you only pay for what you want.
What we need to know
To check availability and price, we need:
- The venue or postcode
- Approximate guest numbers, including children
- The courses you’d like
- The date and time of the event
Send us the date, your venue or GU31 postcode and guest numbers, along with any dietary needs, and we’ll reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. Just send us your details through our quote form.
