About our paella catering in North Harrow

The cooking is half the fun. People drift over as the sofrito sizzles and the rice turns gold, and the aroma does the rest. Whether it is weddings, from canapés to evening food and leaving dos and retirements, we can cook seafood paella, mixed paella and vegan paella for your guests.

London gardens are often long and narrow, which is fine for live paella as long as there’s a level spot clear of fences and trees. For an event in North Harrow, tell us where we can park to unload. We cook every pan in full view of your guests, so it arrives hot and becomes part of the event.

Common questions in North Harrow

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St Alban?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is typically elsewhere. Send us the reception address.

Which station should guests use for North Harrow?

The closest is Harrow-on-the-Hill station, roughly 1.2 miles away.

Can you supply plates?

We can. Let us know what you have, and we will quote for the rest.

Is the paella cooked on site?

It is. We bring the pans, burners and fresh ingredients and cook it there and then, serving it hot from the pan.

Do you do desserts?

We do. Spanish desserts such as churros or crema catalana, or you can serve your own cake.

Will there be enough food?

We size the pans for your numbers and the rest of the menu. Tell us what else is being served. Our guide to portions explains more.

How much space do you need?

Level ground for the burners, pans and a table, outdoors or in a marquee or well-ventilated area, and the venue’s permission for live cooking.

Is paella a full meal?

It is a full meal on its own. Many hosts add tapas first or dessert after.

For planners, venues and organisers

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we will keep you updated on timings and set-up.

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We can send whatever the landowner or council needs from us.

Diets, allergies and planning

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Try these:

  • Make sure each pan is labelled
  • Have seats for most of your guests
  • Tell us what else is being served
  • Choose two or three paellas so every guest has a choice

Paella is best eaten as soon as it’s ready, so we plan service for when guests are ready to eat.

Spanish desserts such as churros or crema catalana finish the meal, or serve your own cake.

Dishes our guests love

Seafood paella

Prawns, mussels and squid in a rich fish stock, cooked until the rice is golden. It’s generally the most photographed pan.

Mixed paella

Chicken and seafood together, for guests who want a bit of everything.

Live paella or other catering?

A plated meal needs a kitchen, more staff and usually costs more per head. Live paella needs a level, ventilated spot and the venue’s permission to cook, and it’s entertaining too. Got a budget? Let us know, and we will put together a menu that fits. A simple menu can still feel generous.

Why North Harrow hosts choose us

  • Waiting staff and crockery on request
  • Sangria and bar staff available
  • A quote that spells everything out
  • Live cooking, not reheated food

See How we price And What paella catering costs.

What affects the price in North Harrow

Live paella pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:

  • Waiting and bar staff
  • The length of service
  • Whether you need crockery
  • How many courses

Live paella pricing depends on the event. A simple paella lunch costs less than a wedding with canapés, three paellas and waiting staff. We itemise everything in your quote.

Details that help

You don’t need every detail fixed to get a quote, but these help:

  • A picture of the space, if you can
  • Whether the venue has crockery or staff
  • Your date and when you want to eat
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: the venue, the timings, the courses you’d like and any extras. When you are ready, use our quote form.

Planning the cooking area

Most outdoor spaces and many venues work for live paella, but a few things matter:

  • A level, firm spot for the burners and pans
  • Clearance from fences, hedges, branches and anything flammable
  • Access for unloading near the cooking spot

As a London location, North Harrow is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and parking takes planning: tell us about parking bays, permits or a driveway.

If you are unsure, send a photo of the space and we will say what we think before you book.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party cooking. With live paella catering, you get the theatre without the work.

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, have hot stock ready, and do not stir once the rice goes in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

How it works

We get there well before serving, set up the cooking area and get the stock going. Your guests are welcome to watch while it cooks. Around midsummer it stays light in North Harrow until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 3:55pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.

  1. Start with the date, the place and the numbers.
  2. Expect a menu idea and a clear, itemised price.
  3. A week or so before, we confirm the plan.
  4. On the day we cook live, timed around your event.
  5. Guests are served from the pan, and our area is cleared afterwards.

Getting ready for the day

  • Check the venue allows live cooking
  • Keep the cooking spot clear of fences, hedges and branches
  • Let us know the timings for the day
