Is live paella right for your event?

Food trucks and street-food vans serve one portion at a time. A paella pan serves many portions quickly, so everyone can eat at the same time. Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so your choice of paellas affects the total. Tell us your budget and we’ll suggest a menu.

Why us?

  • Add tapas, canapés and Spanish desserts
  • Separate pans for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests
  • A quote that spells everything out
  • Real theatre, not just catering

How our paella catering works in North Gorley

Two or three pans side by side cover every guest: meat, seafood and vegetarian or vegan paellas. Every pan is cooked on its own, so diets are easy to manage. We cook vegan paella, chicken and chorizo paella and vegetable paella, and we’re frequently booked for engagement and anniversary parties and big birthdays.

In a small place like North Gorley, events are normally in a garden, a field or a nearby hall. Tell us about narrow lanes or long drives and we will plan for them, and a firm spot near where we park makes set-up easier. We bring everything we need to cook, and pack down our cooking area when service is finished.

Should I cook it myself?

You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right for dozens of people takes experience. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the cooking.

Diets, allergies and planning

Allergies and diets are taken seriously. Help us by following these steps:

  • Count adults and children separately
  • Have seats for most of your guests
  • Ask for labels on each pan
  • Add a dietary question to your invitations

The rice takes about 20 minutes once it goes in, so we start it at the right moment for your event. If plans change, tell us and we’ll adjust.

Finish with churros, crema catalana or tarta de Santiago.

How the day works

Expect a friendly, organised team. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, set up the pans and burners, and cook and serve without fuss. Planning an evening event in North Gorley? Sunset is around 8:55pm in late May, 9:25pm at midsummer and 7:10pm in late September; after dark, the cooking and serving areas need good lighting.

  1. You tell us the date, venue, guest numbers and any dietary needs.
  2. We put together a menu and a clear quote.
  3. On the day, we set up the burners and pans and get the stock going.
  4. The paella cooks in front of your guests, with tapas first if you’ve chosen them.
  5. We serve from the pan, then clear our cooking area away.

Preparing for the day

  • Confirm the venue is happy with live cooking
  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time

Paella Valenciana

Paella Valenciana is the original: chicken, beans and saffron, rather than seafood. It’s a favourite with guests who do not eat fish.

Vegetable and vegan paella

A slow sofrito, seasonal vegetables and a good vegetable stock make a proper main dish. Vegan versions use plant-based stock.

Your questions about paella catering in North Gorley

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of the Holy Ascension?

Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is generally elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.

Do you cater in the New Forest National Park?

Yes. Some venues there have rules about vehicles, ground and cooking, so check with yours. We will work to whatever the site needs.

What seafood can we have?

Tell us your preferences and we will suggest seafood options to suit your menu and budget. Premium options are available.

Can you feed plenty of people?

Very much so. We size pans and serving points to your guest list.

Can paella be the only main course?

It can be. Paella with bread and salad makes a full main course.

Can the paella be cooked in a hall?

Mostly outside or under an open cover, because we use gas burners. We will check whether your venue has a suitable space.

When do you arrive?

It depends on the menu and numbers. We agree the timings in advance.

Do you bring everything you need?

Pans, burners and ingredients all come with us. You just need a suitable spot and access.
