Paella catering in Lower Burgate

Paella catering for your event in Lower Burgate

Paella has always been food for a crowd: cooked in the open in a big, shallow pan and shared straight from it. That is exactly what we bring to your event in Lower Burgate. We are frequently asked to cater leaving dos and retirements and christenings and family gatherings, with vegetable paella, mixed paella and paella Valenciana.

For a rural spot like Lower Burgate, the countryside is part of the appeal: a paella cooking in a garden or field feels right at home. Tell us about access and the ground. We serve straight from the pan, so every plate is hot, and service is quick once it’s ready.

About the dishes

Mixed paella

Paella mixta combines meat and seafood in one pan.

Paella Valenciana

Valencians take their paella seriously. The classic version is chicken, green beans and butter beans with saffron.

Dietary needs and planning tips

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Here’s how:

  • Make sure each pan is labelled
  • Add a dietary question to your invitations
  • Tell us what else is being served
  • Let us know if anyone has coeliac disease

Any staff you book serve and clear, so you can enjoy your guests.

We can add sangria and bar staff to serve drinks you provide.

Planners, venues and businesses

For larger events, we plan the number of pans and serving points around your timings, so everyone eats promptly. Tell us how long you have for food.

Events in public spaces, like parks, usually need permission. We can send whatever the landowner or council needs from us.

Planning the cooking area

Before the day, we’ll agree where we cook. A good spot ticks these boxes:

  • Level ground for the pans and burners
  • The venue’s permission for live cooking
  • Somewhere close to park and unload

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

What we offer

  • Mixed paella
  • Seafood paella
  • Vegetable paella
  • Chicken & chorizo paella
  • Vegan paella
  • Paella Valenciana
  • Black rice (arroz negro)

Your questions about paella catering in Lower Burgate

Is Lower Burgate too small for live paella?

No, we cook in small places too. Let us know about access and parking.

Can you cater a reception after a service at St Mary's Church?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall where we can cook. Live cooking usually happens at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

Can you cook in the rain?

Rain doesn’t stop us, as long as there is a ventilated cover. We’ll make a plan B with you.

Can you supply plates?

Yes, on request. Proper crockery or quality disposables can be added to your booking.

How many paellas should we have?

Two or three covers most guests. We’ll recommend a mix based on diets.

Is live paella good for a large crowd?

Yes, that’s what it’s made for. We size pans and serving points to your guest list.

Which paellas do you recommend?

It depends on your guests. Chicken and mixed paellas tend to go first, with seafood and vegetable pans alongside.

Will there be enough food?

Quantities depend on numbers, timing and courses, with a sensible margin. Give us accurate numbers for the best result.

The process

Service is quick: the paella goes straight from the pan to the plate, so large groups are fed quickly. Afterwards we clear our cooking area away. In Lower Burgate, the sun sets at about 9:25pm in late June and about 7:10pm in late September, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. In December it is dark by about 4:05pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.

  1. You share your date, numbers and venue.
  2. We plan the menu with you, including every diet.
  3. We arrive in good time to set up.
  4. The paella cooks as guests gather round.
  5. We serve hot from the pan and clear our cooking area.

Getting ready for the day

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Weighing up DIY against a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. We’re happy to give you a quote to compare.

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, keep the stock hot, and don’t stir once the rice goes in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

Who books paella catering in Lower Burgate?

There is no kitchen needed, so it’s at home in gardens, fields and marquees where other catering struggles.

We can help if you are planning any of the following:

  • Garden parties and summer barbecues
  • Office lunches and staff parties
  • Anniversary celebrations
  • Birthday celebrations

If you are organising a summer fair for a school like The Burgate School and Sixth Form, a paella stall is a crowd-pleaser.

Questions to ask before you book

  • Who provides the crockery
  • The wet-weather plan
  • How dietary needs and allergies are handled
