Paella catering near Leagreen
How our paella catering works in Leagreen
Live paella works almost anywhere with a level, ventilated spot: a garden, marquee, barn, courtyard or field. Whether it’s garden get-togethers and community events and fairs, we can cook vegan paella, black rice and paella Valenciana.
Somewhere like Leagreen, a field or garden is often the perfect setting. Mention gates and soft ground when you get in touch. Every pan is cooked in front of your guests, so it arrives hot and becomes part of the event.
Planning for every diet
Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Here’s how:
- Confirm allergies by email
- Ask about diets and allergies on your invitation or RSVP
- Plan seating for most guests: paella is easiest eaten sitting down
- Tell us what else is being served
On the day, you shouldn’t have to think about the food. We set up, cook and serve, and keep in touch with you or your venue about timings.
We can add sangria and bar staff for your own drinks.
How the day works
We arrive in good time before you want to eat, set up the cooking area and get the stock going. Your guests are welcome to watch while it cooks. Around midsummer it stays light in Leagreen until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so summer evening events are usually served in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 4:05pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.
- You tell us the date, venue, guest numbers and any dietary needs.
- You get a suggested menu and an itemised quote.
- On the day, we set up the burners and pans and get the stock going.
- The rice cooks in full view, while tapas or canapés go round.
- We serve it hot from the pan and clear our area when service ends.
How to prepare
- Plan cover in case of rain
- Ensure we can park close by to unload
- Let us know the timings for the day

Leagreen: your questions answered
We’re having a ceremony at Church of All Saints: can you cater afterwards?
Yes, at a garden, marquee or venue nearby with a suitable spot to cook. Churches rarely have space for live cooking, so the meal is normally elsewhere. Tell us where the reception will be.
Do you cater in the New Forest National Park?
Yes. Some venues there have rules about vehicles, ground and cooking, so check with yours. We will follow the site rules.
Which paellas suit our guests?
Two or three is usual: chicken or mixed, seafood, and vegetable or vegan. See the sample menu.
What happens if it rains?
Rain does not stop us, as long as there is a ventilated cover. We will make a plan B with you.
Is paella enough as a main?
Paella is a meal in itself. Many hosts add tapas first or dessert after.
How does live paella catering work?
We bring everything needed to cook on site, cook while everyone watches, and serve at the time you want.
Should we have more than one paella?
Two or three is usual: meat or mixed, seafood, and vegetable or vegan. We’ll suggest a split based on your guests.
Do you take everything away?
We take our equipment and leave the cooking area tidy. Table clearing is available with waiting staff.

Organising for someone else?
If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can hold the date.
For big numbers, we plan pans and serving points to keep queues short, so guests are fed quickly. Tell us how long you have for food.
Cook it yourself or book a caterer?
Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. Common mistakes are mismatched pans and burners, overfilling and stirring. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.
You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but you’ll still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. We take care of all of it.
What we need at the venue
We cook in large pans over gas burners, so the cooking area needs a little planning. These are the things we check:
- Flat, firm ground for the cooking area
- Space well away from trees, fences and gazebo walls
- Access for unloading near the cooking spot
Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly.

Here’s what makes the biggest difference to the price:
- Your choice of paellas
- Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
- The number of people
- Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
The cost per head usually falls as numbers rise, since the set-up is much the same either way. Give us your numbers and we will quote.
