Paella catering in Great Horwood
Paella catering in Great Horwood, cooked live
We cook every paella from scratch on the day, starting with a slow sofrito of onion, garlic, peppers and tomato, then the stock, saffron and rice. We’re frequently asked to cater retirement and leaving parties and wedding breakfasts and evening food, serving chicken and chorizo paella, black rice and seafood paella.
For a rural spot like Great Horwood, the countryside is part of the appeal: a paella cooking in a garden or field feels right at home. Let us know about access and ground conditions. All the cooking equipment comes with us, and we clear our cooking area away afterwards.

Great Horwood questions
Is Great Horwood close to London?
About 47 miles from central London.
Is Great Horwood too small for live paella?
No, we cook in small places too. Let us know about access and parking.
How much is live paella catering?
Every event is quoted individually, so you only pay for what you need. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas and we will reply with a price.
Do you cook inside?
Mostly outside or under an open cover, because we use gas burners. We will check whether your venue has a suitable space.
Should we have more than one paella?
Two or three covers most guests. Tell us about your guests’ diets and we will suggest the mix.
Can you cater for children?
Yes. Children often love a simple chicken paella. Tell us how many are coming.
What seafood can we have?
We’ll talk through seafood options when we plan your menu.
How far ahead should we book?
Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Ask about your date even if it’s soon.
DIY paella versus live catering
Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.
Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. We are happy to give you a quote to compare.
Working with your venue
Planning an event for a club, school or charity in Great Horwood? Live paella feeds a crowd quickly and suits most diets. Tell us about the event and we’ll suggest a menu.
If you are planning an event on someone’s behalf, whether you’re a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we’ll work directly with you and the venue. It keeps things simple.
Before you choose a spot
Safety and good cooking both depend on the spot we use. We need:
- Outdoor space or a ventilated gazebo
- A level, firm spot for the burners and pans
- Clearance from fences, hedges, branches and anything flammable
If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise.
What we offer
- Chicken & chorizo paella
- Vegetable paella
- Seafood paella
- Paella Valenciana
- Vegan paella
- Mixed paella
- Black rice (arroz negro)
How it works
It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, set up our cooking area, and get on with cooking and serving. Planning an evening event in Great Horwood? Sunset is around 8:55pm in late May, 9:25pm at midsummer and 7:05pm in late September; once it is dark, we need light to cook and serve by.
- Get in touch with the basics: when, where and how many.
- We come back with paellas to suit your guests, plus any extras.
- A week or so before, we confirm the plan.
- We set up, cook from scratch and keep an eye on your timings.
- Guests are served from the pan, and our area is cleared afterwards.

Vegetable and vegan paella
A vegetable paella is not an afterthought: peppers, artichokes and beans with saffron.
Seafood paella
Seafood paella starts with a good fish and shellfish stock. Shellfish goes in towards the end so it stays tender.

- Flag any coeliac guests, not just gluten-free preferences

Any staff you book serve and clear, so you can enjoy your guests.
Sangria and bar staff can be added to serve drinks you provide.
How we price paella catering
Your quote will be clear and itemised. The main things that affect it are:
- Waiting and bar staff
- Whether you need crockery
- The length of service
- Chicken, vegetable or premium seafood
Live paella often compares well with a sit-down meal, as there’s no kitchen to hire and fewer staff to pay. We will send you a quote.
