Paella catering in Dora's Green, cooked live
A couple of different pans covers everyone: meat, seafood and vegetarian or vegan paellas. Each is cooked separately, so diets are easy to manage. Whether it’s fairs, fêtes and festivals and office lunches and staff parties, we can cook mixed paella, seafood paella and chicken and chorizo paella.
For a rural spot like Dora's Green, the countryside is part of the appeal: a huge pan in a garden or field fits perfectly. Let us know about access and ground conditions. Timings are planned around your event, whether that is speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.
Why live cooking beats a buffet
Food trucks and street-food vans serve one portion at a time. A paella pan serves many portions quickly, so everyone can eat at the same time. Got a budget? Let us know, and we’ll put together a menu that fits. Even a simple menu can be a feast.
Why Dora's Green hosts choose us
- Sangria, plus bar staff for your own drinks
- Real theatre, not just catering
- Add tapas, canapés and Spanish desserts
- Fast service from the pan

Planning for every diet
Nearly every event has some special diets. To plan for them:
- Flag any coeliac guests, not just gluten-free preferences
- Ensure each pan is labelled
- Make sure most guests can sit to eat
- Send allergies to us in writing
Paella is best eaten as soon as it’s ready, so we plan service for when guests are ready to eat.
Finish with churros, crema catalana or tarta de Santiago.
What happens on the day
On the day, we set up our cooking area, light the burners and start the sofrito. Once the rice goes in, it takes about 20 minutes, so the timing is planned around your event. Around midsummer it stays light in Dora's Green until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening service is normally in daylight. For winter events, when it’s dark by about 3:55pm, we need lighting at the cooking spot.
- First, you send us your date, venue, numbers and diets.
- You get a suggested menu and an itemised quote.
- On the day we arrive in good time, set up and start the stock.
- The paella cooks in front of your guests, with tapas first if you’ve chosen them.
- We serve from the pan, then clear our cooking area away.
Getting ready for the day
- Let us know the timings for the day
- Ensure the spot is clear of anything flammable
- Confirm the venue is happy with live cooking

Planning help
Organising for someone else?
Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: where cooking is allowed, access times and the paperwork they need. Tell us what your venue needs and we will work to it.
For larger events, we plan the number of pans and serving points around your timings, so everyone eats promptly. Tell us how long you have for food.
What’s in the pans
Paella Valenciana
The original paella from Valencia is a countryside dish of chicken and vegetables, not seafood. It is often the most popular pan at an event.
Seafood paella
Prawns, mussels and squid in a rich fish stock, cooked until the rice is golden. It is typically the most photographed pan.

What paella catering costs
Each event is quoted on its own, and the price depends on a few things:
- Whether you need crockery
- The length of service
- Your choice of paellas
- Extra courses such as canapés, tapas and dessert
Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the courses, along with staff, extras and travel. We quote for each event individually.
Getting an accurate quote
You don’t need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:
- Whether you want canapés, tapas or desserts
- Your date and when you want to eat
- What the venue already provides
- The venue or postcode
We quote for each event separately, so the price fits what you actually want. To ask for one, fill in our quote form.
Your questions about paella catering in Dora's Green

Do you provide plates and cutlery?
If you need them, yes. Proper crockery or quality disposables are available.
