Paella catering in Carpenders Park
Paella catering for your event in Carpenders Park
We cook every paella from scratch on the day, beginning with a sofrito of onion, garlic, peppers and tomato, followed by stock, saffron and rice. We are often asked to cater fairs, fêtes and festivals and garden parties and summer barbecues, serving chicken and chorizo paella, mixed paella and seafood paella.
Gardens in London can be narrow, which is fine for live paella as long as there’s a level spot clear of fences and trees. For an event in Carpenders Park, tell us where we can park to unload. You’ll know exactly what’s included before booking: menu, staff, crockery and anything else you choose, with no surprises on the day.

Carpenders Park: your questions answered
Is parking a problem for events in Carpenders Park?
London parking needs planning: let us know about permits or off-street space. We will plan unloading around it.
Can you cook in Oxhey Park?
Only with permission from the park’s owner, normally the council. Ask them first, and we’ll send any information they need.
What if the weather’s bad?
We need a covered spot, such as a gazebo, marquee or open-sided barn with good ventilation. We plan for rain with you in advance.
How far ahead should we book?
As soon as you have a date. Peak dates go quickly, so it pays to ask early.
Is paella enough as a main?
Yes. With bread and salad, paella is a complete main.
Can we choose the seafood?
Seafood choices are agreed when we plan the menu, including premium options if you want them.
Which areas do you serve?
We cover London and the South East, Greater London included. See all areas.
Do you do desserts?
We can add a dessert. Tell us what you have in mind when you ask for a quote.
How it works
When we arrive, we set up the burners and pans and start cooking the sofrito and stock. The rice goes in about 20 minutes before serving, so the timing is planned around your event. Around midsummer it stays light in Carpenders Park until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so summer evening events are typically served in daylight. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so winter events need lighting where we cook.
- It starts with your date, venue, numbers and any dietary needs.
- We put together a menu and a clear quote.
- We arrive early, set up the cooking area and start the stock.
- The paella cooks in front of your guests, with tapas first if you’ve chosen them.
- It is served straight from the pan, and we pack down afterwards.
Before we arrive
- Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely
- Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
- Arrange parking near the cooking spot

Should I cook it myself?
Not sure whether to cook yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Ask us for a quote and compare.
You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. A big pan needs a burner that heats it evenly, and getting the rice right for dozens of people takes experience. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.
Space, weather and the venue
Before the day, we’ll agree where we cook. It needs to meet a few simple requirements:
- A level, firm spot for the burners and pans
- Clearance from fences, hedges, branches and anything flammable
- Good ventilation: outdoors, or an open-sided cover
As a London location, Carpenders Park is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, and parking takes planning: tell us about parking bays, permits or a driveway.
If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and we will advise before you book.
