For a village fête or field event near Yelsted, we can bring hot food to a rural site. Ground conditions and access matter, so tell us about them. Tapas, canapés, desserts, sangria and staff can all be added, so the whole menu comes from one caterer.

Event catering near Yelsted

Yelsted is about 3 miles south-east of Gillingham, in Kent. From the centre of Yelsted to the outskirts, we offer the same service: paella cooked live, every diet catered for and a clear quote. Yelsted is one of 922 places in Kent we cover. Our nearest city page is Canterbury, about 20 miles away.

For visitors coming by rail, Rainham (Kent) station is about 2.5 miles away. School fairs, for a school like St Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Primary School, are a natural fit for a paella stall. Within about 5 miles is the Kent Downs National Landscape, where events may have extra rules on vehicles and waste; we work to the site rules.

For festival paella catering in ME9, we plan around your venue and your guests. Local streets include Yelsted Road and Yelsted Lane; an event at home on any of them works well with live paella. Questions from Yelsted

Is Yelsted too small for live paella?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Tell us about lanes, gates and parking.

Which station should guests use for Yelsted?

The closest is Rainham (Kent) station, roughly 2.5 miles away.

How quickly can you serve?

Paella is cooked in big batches and served from the pan, so service is quick.

Is the paella cooked on site?

Yes. We arrive with everything we need and cook on the day, serving it hot from the pan.

How much paella per person?

We size the pans for your numbers and the rest of the menu. Let us know about any other food. See how much paella per person.

Do you need water?

Let us know what the pitch has and we’ll confirm our needs.

What space do you need to cook?

Less than you might think: a level spot clear of fences, hedges and branches, with room for a serving table. If in doubt, send a photo.

Can you cater for children?

Yes. Children frequently love a simple chicken paella. Tell us how many are coming.

Space, weather and the venue

Most gardens and venues can host live paella, but there are a few things to check:

  • A level pitch on firm ground
  • Vehicle access to the pitch at set-up and break-down
  • Clearance from tents and gazebos

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly.

Planners, venues and businesses

Why live cooking beats a buffet

Some traders struggle with vegan and gluten-free options. A vegan paella pan sits alongside the others. If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we will put together a menu that fits. A simple menu can still feel generous.

Why us?

  • Everything cooked fresh at your event
  • A quote that spells everything out
  • Tapas, canapés and desserts if you want them
  • Hot food served quickly from the pan

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, have hot stock ready, and leave the rice alone once it is in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

A DIY paella party works for small groups. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles separate pans for each diet.

Step by step

Here’s how the day usually runs: we set up the pans and start the sofrito, the rice cooks in front of your guests, and we serve straight from the pan at the agreed time. At midsummer, events in Yelsted stay light until about 9:15pm, so evening trading typically finishes in daylight in high summer. For winter markets, dark by about 3:50pm, the pitch needs lighting.

  1. Tell us about the event, the crowd and the pitch.
  2. We reply with our menu, prices for visitors and requirements.
  3. Paperwork goes over in good time.
  4. On the day, the pans are on before the busiest hours.
  5. When trading ends, the pitch is cleared and left clean.

What affects the price in Yelsted

Each event is quoted on its own, and the price depends on a few things:

  • The number of people
  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
  • Whether you need crockery
  • Timings and hours

Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so your choice of paellas affects the total. Tell us your budget and we will suggest a menu.

Details that help

These details help us quote quickly:

  • Where the event is
  • Your date and when you want to eat
  • A photo of the space, if you can
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and allergy numbers
