Questions from Willen
Is Willen close to London?
About 47 miles from central London.
Can you cook in Campbell Park?
Only if the landowner, generally the council, allows it. Check with them, and we’ll provide our paperwork.
When do you arrive?
We arrive well before serving to set up and start the stock. The rice itself takes about 20 minutes, timed around your event.
What documents can you send?
Send us your list.
Can you cook halal paella?
Yes, we do. We use halal chicken and leave out pork and alcohol, in a separate pan.
What space do you need to cook?
A level space for the pans, burners and a serving table, outdoors or in a marquee or well-ventilated area, and the venue’s permission for live cooking.
Do you cover Willen?
We do. We cook at events in Willen and across Milton Keynes. Tell us your date and we’ll check availability.
Do you have a kids’ option?
Yes. A simple chicken paella is typically popular with children. Include children in your numbers.

Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?
You can hire equipment and do it yourself, but you’ll still need to source ingredients, prep and cook for hours. We take care of all of it.
You can cook paella for a crowd yourself, but it takes practice. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Our guide to cooking paella for a crowd explains how.
How the day works
Serving is fast: the paella goes straight from the pan to the plate, so even a long queue moves. Afterwards we clear our cooking area away. Summer events in Willen have daylight until about 9:25pm at midsummer and about 7:05pm by late September, so evening trading generally finishes in daylight in high summer. For winter markets, dark by about 3:55pm, the pitch needs lighting.
- You send us the event, dates and pitch details.
- We confirm what we will serve, our pitch needs and any paperwork.
- We arrive at the agreed time to set up the pitch.
- We cook in front of the crowd and serve from the pan all event.
- We pack down and leave the pitch tidy.
Getting ready for the day
- Get the venue’s permission for cooking
- Share the running order, including any speeches
- Make sure the spot is clear of anything flammable
How to get a price
It’s easy to get a price: tell us the date, place, numbers and any dietary needs. We’ll send a clear, itemised quote.
