Festival paella catering near The Sands

About our festival paella catering in The Sands

Because paella is cooked in big batches, it handles lunchtime rushes well. Portions are served in seconds. We’re often asked to cater festivals and county and country shows, with giant-pan paella, vegan paella and seafood paella.

At a field event near The Sands, power and water may be limited; tell us what’s available and we will plan around it. We bring everything we need to cook, and pack down our cooking area when service is finished.

Planning for every diet

Nearly every event has some special diets. To cater well for them:

  • Ask about peak-time capacity
  • Check allergen info is on display
  • Check every diet is covered by the line-up
  • Agree waste arrangements with traders

Our pitch is kept tidy and safe.

Bowl food for easy eating on the move.

12 questions to ask before you book

Is live paella right for your event?

For crew catering, sandwiches are easy but uninspiring. A hot meal keeps crew happy. The price depends on your guest numbers, the menu and how many courses you choose, along with staff, extras and travel. We quote for each event individually.

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us cook.

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, keep the stock hot, and don’t stir once the rice goes in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

Your questions about festival paella catering in The Sands

Do you come out to small places like The Sands?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking.

Which station should guests use for The Sands?

The closest is Farnham station, roughly 2.3 miles away.

Do you cook it at the event?

It is. We arrive with everything we need and cook it there and then, then serve straight from the pan.

What about pudding?

We can add a dessert. Let us know if you’d like one when you ask for a quote.

Do you take everything away?

We pack down our cooking area after service. Waiting staff can clear tables if you book them.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Of course. We cook vegetarian and vegan paellas in their own pans, alongside the meat and seafood pans.

Do you provide plates and cutlery?

Yes, on request. Proper crockery or quality disposables are available.

Can you serve drinks?

Sangria, yes. For other drinks, we can provide bar staff to serve what you buy.

Working with your venue

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: where cooking is allowed, access times and the paperwork they need. Tell us what your venue needs and we will work to it.

The Sands events: pitches and permissions

The Sands is about 2 miles east of Farnham, in Surrey. Events in The Sands are planned around your venue and timings: a clear quote, agreed timings and paella cooked live on the day. The Sands is one of 395 places in Surrey we cover. Our events stretch from The Sands to Guildford (8 miles away).

Running a fête for a church like The Church of the Good Shepherd? A paella pan draws people in. Events in parks such as Crooksbury Hill need permission from the council or landowner, and we’ll send any documents they ask for. Within about 7 miles is the Surrey Hills National Landscape, where events may have extra rules on vehicles and waste; we work to the site rules.

Anywhere in GU10, we can bring festival paella catering to you, from busy streets to quiet lanes. Local streets include The Green, Binton Lane and Botany Hill; an event at home on any of them works well with live paella. For events just outside The Sands, we cover Runfold (1 mile west), Sandy Cross (1 mile north), Compton (1 mile west), Seale (1 mile north-east) and Tongham (2 miles north). Within a short drive, we also cover Guildford (8 miles east), Woking (10 miles north-east), Camberley (9 miles north), Frimley (7 miles north), Haslemere (9 miles south) and Cranleigh (12 miles south-east).

A little further out are Seale and Tongham (0.9 miles north-east) and Ash Museum (2.8 miles north). The countryside around The Sands includes Culverswell Hill and Runfold Wood.

How it works

We cook over gas burners in wide, shallow pans. It needs a level spot with some shelter and good ventilation, and we agree where that is before the day. Summer events in The Sands have daylight until about 9:20pm at midsummer and about 7:05pm by late September, which helps evening trading. For winter markets, dark by about 3:55pm, the pitch needs lighting.

  1. It starts with your event details and pitch information.
  2. We confirm what we will serve, our pitch needs and any paperwork.
  3. On the day, we arrive and set up our pitch.
  4. The paella cooks in full view, and we serve from the pan through the event.
  5. We pack down and leave the pitch tidy.

Before we arrive
