Festival paella catering in Setley

About our festival paella catering in Setley

One paella stall covers many diets: separate meat, seafood and vegan pans. That makes life easier for organisers. We cook chicken and chorizo paella, seafood paella and churros, and we’re often booked for school fairs and fundraisers and VIP and hospitality areas.

A fête near Setley might be on a field with no mains power; let us know and we’ll plan for it. Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal included, each in a separate pan.

Common questions in Setley

Can you run a stall at a school fair in Setley?

Yes, if the school is happy for us to cook on site. Send us the date, pitch and expected numbers.

Can you cook near the sea around Setley?

Yes, with a sheltered cooking spot. Wind is the main issue on the coast, so we plan shelter.

Do you do crew catering?

Yes, timed to your schedule. Send us numbers and times.

How many different paellas?

Most events have two or three: a meat or mixed paella, a seafood paella and a vegetable or vegan one. We’ll suggest a split based on your guests.

Is halal food available?

Yes, we do. We use halal chicken and leave out pork and alcohol, in its own pan.

What happens if it rains?

We cook under cover, such as a gazebo, marquee or open-sided barn with good ventilation. We plan for rain with you in advance.

Do you do desserts?

Yes. Churros, crema catalana and tarta de Santiago are popular choices.

Can you do gluten-free paella?

We can cook a gluten-free paella in its own pan. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can plan it carefully.

What we need at the venue

We cook in large pans over gas burners, so the cooking area needs a little planning. These are the things we check:

  • Pitch space for cooking and serving
  • Clear information on power, water and waste
  • Clearance from tents and gazebos

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and we will say what we think before booking.

How it works

On the day, we set up our cooking area, light the burners and start the sofrito. The rice goes in about 20 minutes before serving, so the timing is planned around your event. Summer events in Setley have daylight until about 9:25pm at midsummer and about 7:10pm by late September, which helps evening trading. Winter markets, dark by about 4:00pm, need a well-lit pitch.

  1. Organisers send us the event details, dates and pitch information.
  2. You get our menu, pitch requirements and paperwork.
  3. We arrive at the agreed time to set up the pitch.
  4. We cook in front of the crowd and serve from the pan all event.
  5. We clear the pitch and leave it clean.

Running an event in Setley

Setley is about 4 miles north of Lymington, in Hampshire. Give us the address of your event in Setley, and we will plan the journey and set-up before the day. Setley is one of 683 towns and villages in Hampshire we cover. We cook right across the region, from Setley to Southampton (about 11 miles away).

Running a fête for a church like Church of St Nicholas? A paella pan draws people in. School fairs, for a school like Brockenhurst Church of England Primary School, are a natural fit for a paella stall. Within about a mile is the New Forest National Park, where events may have extra rules on vehicles and waste; we work to the site rules. With the sea within about 5 miles, we plan shelter from the wind for coastal events, and seafood paella sells well by the sea.

Festival paella catering in SO42 is planned around your venue. Local streets include Tilebarn Lane and Lymington Road; an event at home on any of them works well with live paella. For events just outside Setley, we cover Brockenhurst (1 mile north), South Weirs (1 mile west), Balmerlawn (1 mile north), Lyndhurst (5 miles north) and Emery Down (5 miles north). Further out, we also cater in Eastleigh (15 miles north-east), Totton (8 miles north), Chandler's Ford (15 miles north-east), Hedge End (14 miles north-east), Lymington (4 miles south) and Romsey (13 miles north).

A little further out are St Barbe Museum and Art Gallery (3.6 miles south) and Lymington New Forest Hospital (2.9 miles south-east).

  • Local pubs include Foresters Arms (0.7 miles north)

DIY paella versus live catering

Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it’s harder than it looks. A big pan needs a burner that heats it evenly, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up stuck at the stove. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.

Working with your venue

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we’ll keep everyone informed on the day.

Throwing a party at home? Send us a photo of the garden and tell us about access, and we will tell you honestly whether live paella will work.

Is live paella right for your event?

Most street food is cooked one order at a time. Paella is cooked in big batches and served from the pan, so queues move quickly. Travel, parking and access can affect the price, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. The full price is confirmed before booking.

Why book with us
