Overton questions

Can you run a stall at a school fair in Overton?

Yes, with the school’s permission. Send us the date, pitch and expected numbers.

What’s the nearest station to Overton for guests?

The closest is Overton station, roughly 0.8 miles away.

When do you arrive?

We arrive well before serving to set up and start the stock. The rice itself takes about 20 minutes, timed around your event.

How much does festival paella catering cost in Overton?

Every event is quoted individually, so you only pay for what you need. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas for a clear quote.

How many different paellas?

Two or three is usual: meat or mixed, seafood, and vegetable or vegan. We’ll suggest a split based on your guests.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Yes, and meat eaters often go back for seconds. They have their own pans, stock and spoons.

How do you work out quantities?

Quantities depend on numbers, timing and courses, with a little extra built in. Accurate numbers help.

How much space do you need?

A level space for the pans, burners and a serving table, outdoors or in a marquee or well-ventilated area, and the venue’s permission for live cooking.

Prices and what affects them

Here’s what makes the biggest difference to the price:

  • How many courses
  • Crockery and cutlery, or disposables
  • Staff: cooks, waiting staff and bar staff
  • Distance and access to the venue

Compared with a plated meal, live paella is often good value, because it needs no kitchen and fewer staff. We’ll send you a quote.

What we need to know

You don’t need every detail fixed to get a quote, but it helps to know:

  • The venue or postcode
  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • What the venue already provides
  • A picture of where we’d cook

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: venue, timings, courses and extras. To send your details, send us your details through our quote form.

The menu, dish by dish

Seafood paella

The seafood pan is a festival favourite.

Chicken & chorizo paella

A crowd-pleaser for meat eaters.

DIY paella versus live catering

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, keep the stock hot, and do not stir once the rice goes in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

Plenty of people try cooking paella for their own party. The usual problems are a pan too big for the burner, too much rice and stirring once the rice is in. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the cooking.

Paella compared with other options

Most street food is cooked one order at a time. Paella is batch-cooked and served fast, keeping queues short. Comparing caterers? Look at what each quote includes: staff, crockery, bread and salads, travel and VAT. We itemise ours.

Why us?

  • Paella cooked from scratch on site
  • Options for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests, each in its own pan
  • Cooking your guests will gather round to watch
  • Starters and desserts to complete the menu

Planning for every diet

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Try these:

  • Make allergen information visible at every stall
  • Put picnic tables near the traders
  • Put all trader information in one pack
  • Ask traders about packaging and waste

Crew meals are served at set times.

Tapas and churros can be added to a stall menu.

How it works

We work to your timings. If things run behind, we hold the paella at the right stage so it’s still served fresh. For an evening event in Overton, sunset is about 8:55pm in late May and 9:25pm in late June; after that, the pitch needs good lighting.

  1. We check your dates.
  2. We agree menu and pitch.
  3. Burners and pans go up.
  4. The first pans are ready as visitors arrive.
  5. We serve, then clear the pitch at the end.

Before we arrive

  • Arrange parking near the cooking spot
  • Plan cover in case of rain
  • Get the venue’s permission for cooking
