Organising for someone else?
Hosting a party at home? Send us a photo of the garden and tell us about access, and we will let you know if live paella is a good fit.
Many venues have rules for outside caterers: where cooking is allowed, access times and the paperwork they need. Tell us what your venue needs and we will work to it.
Is live paella right for your event?
Burger stalls are common. A paella pan stands out in a food line-up. Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so your choice of paellas affects the total. Tell us your budget and we’ll suggest a menu.

Step by step
When we arrive, we set up our cooking area, light the burners and start the sofrito. The rice goes in about 20 minutes before serving, so the timing is planned around your event. Summer events in Lower Halstow have daylight until about 9:15pm at midsummer and about 7:00pm by late September, which helps evening trading. For winter markets, dark by about 3:50pm, the pitch needs lighting.
- Send us your event details and pitch information.
- We confirm menu, pitch needs and documents.
- We arrive and set up at the agreed time.
- We cook in full view and serve all event.
- We clear and leave the pitch clean.
Preparing for the day
- Make sure the spot is clear of anything flammable
- Confirm numbers and diets before the day
- Plan cover in case of rain

FAQs for Lower Halstow
Do you come out to small places like Lower Halstow?
Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking.
What’s the nearest station to Lower Halstow for guests?
The closest is Newington station, roughly 1.3 miles away.
Can you cook halal paella?
Yes, on request. Tell us how many guests need halal food, and it’s cooked separately.
What if the weather’s bad?
We cook under cover, such as a gazebo, marquee or open-sided barn with good ventilation. We will agree a wet-weather plan with you.
Will there be enough food?
Quantities depend on numbers, timing and courses, with a sensible margin. Accurate numbers help.
Will there be long queues?
Big batches and service from the pan keep things moving.
Can you do gluten-free paella?
Yes, on request. The rice is gluten-free, but stocks and chorizo can contain gluten, so we cook a gluten-free paella separately.
Do you cook it at the event?
Yes. We arrive with everything we need and cook it there and then, serving it hot from the pan.
Can I cook paella for a crowd myself?
Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it is harder than it looks. Large pans need the right burners, and getting the rice right for dozens of people takes experience. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.
A DIY paella party works for small groups. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and keeps vegetarian and allergy-safe pans separate.
