Working with your venue

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we’ll keep you updated on timings and set-up.

If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can hold the date.

What we need at the venue

No two venues are the same, so we will ask about yours when you get in touch. Generally, we look for:

  • Firm, level ground
  • Pitch space for cooking and serving
  • Spacing from tents and other structures

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Should I cook it myself?

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, have hot stock ready, and don’t stir once the rice goes in. Keep a clear zone around the burner.

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up stuck at the stove. Booking us means you get the show without the stress.

For a church fête or fundraiser, at a church such as St Alban's Church, a paella stall adds a hot meal to the cakes and tombola. Within about 8 miles is the Kent Downs National Landscape, where events may have extra rules on vehicles and waste; we work to the site rules.

Blue Bell Hill questions

Is Blue Bell Hill close to London?

About 28 miles from central London, and we cover it as standard.

Do you come out to small places like Blue Bell Hill?

Not at all. We cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking.

How far ahead should we book?

As soon as you have a date. Peak dates go quickly, so get in touch early.

What does festival paella catering cost?

We quote for each event, so you only pay for what you need. Tell us your date and numbers for a clear quote.

Do you clear up afterwards?

We pack down our cooking area after service. Waiting staff can clear tables if you book them.

Do you provide plates and cutlery?

Yes, if you need them. Let us know what you have, and we’ll quote for the rest.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Of course. Vegetarian and vegan paellas are cooked in separate pans.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

A gluten-free pan is no problem. Tell us about any coeliac guests when you book so we can plan it carefully.

About the dishes

Giant paella pans

The huge pan is the star.

Vegan paella

Vegan visitors get a real meal.

Why choose live paella in Blue Bell Hill?

Crew sandwiches are easy but dull. A hot paella keeps crew going. There’s no one-size-fits-all price for live paella. A garden party lunch and a full wedding menu are very different jobs. Your quote spells it all out.

Why us?

  • Cooking your guests will gather round to watch
  • Waiting staff and crockery on request
  • Add tapas, canapés and Spanish desserts
  • Hot food served quickly from the pan

Diets, allergies and planning

We cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal guests. To get it right:

  • Ask traders about serving speed at peak times
  • Ensure the line-up includes vegan and gluten-free options
  • Schedule crew meals
  • Check traders’ packaging and waste plans

We keep our pitch tidy and safe throughout the day.

Bowl food for easy eating on the move.

The process

Serving is fast: we serve straight from the pan, so even a long queue moves. Afterwards we clear our cooking area away. Evening events in Blue Bell Hill have light until about 9:20pm at midsummer; after that, the pitch needs good lighting.

  1. Send the event name, expected visitors and pitch size.
  2. We reply with our menu, prices for visitors and requirements.
  3. We send the documents the event asks for.
  4. On the day, the pans are on before the busiest hours.
  5. When trading ends, the pitch is cleared and left clean.

Preparing for the day

  • Tell us when you want to eat
  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Have a gazebo or cover ready if rain is likely

How to get a price

Still deciding on the menu? That’s fine: tell us about the occasion and the guests, and we will make suggestions. To start, fill in our quote form.
