Planning an event in Anerley?

How our festival paella catering works in Anerley

The pans are part of the attraction. Visitors stop to watch, take photos and come back for lunch. Popular choices include chicken and chorizo paella, giant-pan paella and vegan paella, and we’re regularly asked to cater sports clubs and race days and charity and school events.

In Anerley, a paella pan suits street parties and school fairs, as long as the road closure or site permission is in place. The paella is served straight from the pan, so every plate is hot, and service is quick once it is ready.

Is live paella right for your event?

For crew catering, sandwiches are easy but uninspiring. A hot meal keeps crew happy. Compared with a plated meal, live paella is frequently good value, as there’s no kitchen to hire and fewer staff to pay. Ask us for a quote.

Why us?

  • Sangria, plus bar staff for your own drinks
  • A clear, itemised quote
  • Real theatre, not just catering
  • Hot food served quickly from the pan

Cook it yourself or book a caterer?

If you do cook yourself, test the pan and burner together beforehand, keep the stock hot, and don’t stir once the rice goes in. And keep children and pets well away from the burner.

Cooking paella for a crowd yourself is possible, but it’s harder than it looks. A big pan needs a burner that heats it evenly, and getting the rice right at scale is tricky. Read how to cook paella for a crowd.

Anerley questions

Could we have live paella in Crystal Palace Dinosaurs?

Only with permission from the park’s owner, typically the council. Check with them, and we’ll provide our paperwork.

Which station should guests use for Anerley?

Anerley has its own station: Anerley station.

Should we have more than one paella?

Two or three covers most guests. We will recommend a mix based on diets.

Is the paella cooked on site?

Yes. Every paella is cooked from scratch on site, in front of your guests.

Do you do starters?

Yes, it is the classic pairing. Tapas go out first, then the paella.

Can you cater for crew and volunteers?

Yes. We can cook for crew, volunteers or a hospitality area as well as, or instead of, a public stall.

Can you serve drinks?

Sangria can be added, and provide bar staff to serve drinks you supply.

Can vegans eat at your stall?

Yes, always. A vegan paella pan sits alongside the meat and seafood pans.

What festival paella catering costs

There is nothing hidden: the price is based on:

  • The number of people
  • Whether you need crockery
  • How many staff you need
  • Timings and hours

Premium seafood costs more than chicken or vegetables, so your choice of paellas affects the total. We’ll suggest options to suit your budget.

How the day works

Once the rice is in, we don’t stir it. That’s what gives paella its separate grains and crispy base. The smell typically draws people over. At midsummer, events in Anerley stay light until about 9:20pm, which helps evening trading. For winter markets, dark by about 3:55pm, the pitch needs lighting.

  1. Tell us about the event and pitch.
  2. We confirm menu, pitch needs and documents.
  3. We arrive and set up at the agreed time.
  4. We cook in full view and serve all event.
  5. We pack down and tidy the pitch.
